CORIFRUT Società Agricola Cooperativa was born from a need of hazelnut growers and the partnership with CIA(Italian Farmers Confederation) and its 1400 associates in north-west Italy. The cooperative carries out economic initiatives and provides targeted services to its members by coordinating promotion and dissemination activities of its products. The product is the Tonda Gentile Trilobata hazelnut, depending on the certification and production area, can boast the denomination “Piemonte IGP”(Protected Geographical Indication), in conventional and organic. CORIFRUT shares its headquarters with BARBERO SRL which has been operating exclusively in the hazelnut processing sector for 70 years and boasts great experience in the hazelnut sector, including first-rate companies in the food sector. Together with Barbero Srl, the cooperative works synergistically to produce high quality semi-finished products composed of shelled, toasted hazelnuts, flour, grains and hazelnut paste.
PRODUCTS
SHELLED HAZELNUTS
Hazelnuts shelled with great care: the plates are calibrated to impart sufficient force by twisting to break the shell without damaging the kernel.
We carry out constant checks on the work, to limit the production of scrap to a minimum and maximize the yield of this product.
HAZELNUT GRAINS
The toasted hazelnuts are partly used for the production of grain.
We carry out precise calibration of the size of the product, aware of the importance of a uniform grain appearance.
HAZELNUT PASTE
The degree of roasting, grinding and subsequent refining of the best hazelnuts allow the production of a semi-liquid paste which enhances the organoleptic characteristics of the fruit.
