The Estate Tenuta De Gregorio is a new winemaking company born out of a passion for wine, with the aim of introducing and promoting the Irpinia territory, showcasing its Aglianico both nationally and internationally.
COMPANY INFO
From the city to the countryside, a return to rural life, this was our desire that moved us to purchase a vineyard in the Taurasi countryside in the Carazita district. The vineyards planted in 2002 consist of a single grape variety, Aglianico of Taurasi. We come from different professional backgrounds but our passion for viticulture and wine drew us like a magnet and we found ourselves in the world of our dreams; today we are wine producers. We relied on winemaker VINCENZO MERCURIO for production, one of the leading figures in the field, awarded the title of best oenologist in Italy in 2022, thanks to “Giacomo Tachis” award by the Italian Sommelier Foundation.
Our project is without shortcuts, following the uphill road of quality.
PRODUCTS
IRPINIA AGLIANICO DOC
Ruby color, the bouquet is characterized by notes of blueberries, currants, rose petals, with hints of spice. A full, dry wine with excellent persistence. Well-smoothed tannins and marked acidity lend length to the drink.
IRPINIA CAMPI TAURASINI DOC
The color is ruby red. The bouquet ranges between small ripe black fruits, and the characteristic morello cherry, red rose petals, with a hint of pipe tobacco and the memory of graphite completing the olfactory spectrum. On the palate the wine firmly and elegantly pervades the mouth cavity, where it remains long after swallowing, with hints of cocoa and spicy.
TAURASI DOCG
The color is ruby red tending to garnet, deep and impenetrable. Its long aging in wood makes it elegant and harmonious. A wine endowed with great complexity, with a wide range of aromas that gives the nose notes of violet, morello cherry, licorice, cocoa and tobacco. A structured, soft, ripe and enveloping wine on the palate.
IRPINIA ROSATO FLAVè DOC
The color part veers brightly from soft pink hues to more intense ones. During its swirl in the goblet, the impact on the nose is enveloping and captivating, the fresh fruit ranges from cherry to wild strawberries, wrapped in a cloak of medicinal herbs. The impact on the palate is firm and coherent, with clear references to the olfactory part, the pleasant freshness and the closure of good length, invites the next sip.
CAMPANIA FALANGHINA IGT
Straw yellow color with light greenish reflections. On the nose, fruity notes of white peach and pear are present. The palate is intense, savory, with a fresh and persistent finish.
