The Olive oil mill of the Romano family is located in Ponte, in the hearth of the Beneventane hills, since the second half of the 19th century.
Alberto Romano belongs to the 4th generation producing a high-quality olive oil with the passion, commitment and professionalism that has been handed down from father to son for more than a century.
The production is run by a modern hi-tech continuous cycle plant of the Pieralisi group, a leading company in the assembly of machines for oil production.
The flagship of the Frantoio Romano is the “Ortice” variety, accompanied by a great selection of extra virgin olive oils: “Ortice Riserva”, “Picholine”, “Racioppella” and “Ortolana” and the blend “Gold”, obtained from other varieties typical for the area, such as the Frantoio, the Leccino and others.
The extra virgin olive oils that is obtained from our production are nectars with a unique taste, characterized by notes of fresh tomato and vegetal hints.
PRODUCTS
Gold Bio
The “Gold Bio” (organic) extra virgin olive oil is obtained from a right and balanced blend of olives of differente varieties from Beneventane Hills, picked at the right degree of ripeness. It has a beautiful intense limpid golden yellow colour with light green hues.
Its aroma opens with a clear fruity freshly picked olive, fresh, herbaceous, ample and harmonious, with delicate vegetal notes of fruit and almond, with notes of nettle and borage. The taste confirms cleanliness and elegance, with sweet fruit entry, followed by a gentle and delicate bitterness that reminds us of celery, borage and with a delicate spicy.
Medium-light fruity. Ideal on seafood appetizers, stewed shrimps, tuna tartare, poultry or baked lamb, fresh mozzarella cheese.
Ortice Bio
The “Ortice Bio” (organic) single variety extra virgin olive oil is a beautiful intense limpid golden yellow colour with delicate green hues.
Its aroma is clean and rotund, rich in fruity hints of unripe tomato, almond and banana with bitter notes of thistle.
Its taste is fine and complex, with aromatic notes of chicory, unripe fruits and wild herbs. Pungent, fresh spiciness with clear hints of rocket. Particularly fresh and clean finish in the mouth.
The ideal pairing is with vegetables “au gratin”, swordfish salads, vegetable soups, first courses with sausage, red and barbecued meat, hard mature cheeses.
Ortice Riserva
The “Ortice Riserva” single variety extra virgin olive oil is characterized by an intense fruity taste with the right balance of spiciness and bitterness combined with distinct notes of green herbs and tomato.
The appearance is clear. The color is full of greenish reflections, to the nose a fruitiness of green olive, herbaceous scent, with notes of chicory, unripe fruit, tomato and lettuce are perceived. To the palate bitter hints of unripe fruit, chicory and thistle. Pungent, fresh spiciness. Good overall harmony.
The ideal pairing is with vegetables “au gratin”, swordfish salads, vegetable soups, first courses with sausage, red and barbecued meat, hard mature cheeses.
Extra Gold
The “Gold” extravirgin olive oil is obtained from a right and balanced blend of olive varieties coming fromthe Benevento hills, harvested at the veraison stage. Light-medium fruity, yellow colour with green hues. Green and herbaceous aroma with notes of almond and unripe banana.
Bitterness is immediately perceived to the palate with notes of unripe fruit, immediately followed by the pungency of rocket and ending with a slight astringency. Ideal on grilled lake fish and delicate-flavoured salads, grilled chicken and stewed fish.
Racioppella N.03
The “Racioppella” is a single variety extra virgin olive oil is characterized by an intense fruity taste with the right balance of spiciness and bitterness, combined with distinct notes of green herbs, tomato, artichoke and unripe fruit.
The appearance is clear, the color is emerald green. To the nose has strong notes of green olives with hin- ts of freshly cut grass, almond, wild herbs and unripe fruits.
To the palate has a sweet entry of almond followed by a mild bitterness of wild herbs, artichoke, fresh lettu- ce. Light ginger spiciness can be perceived at the end. The ideal pairing is with vegetables “au gratin”, fish salads, vegetable soups, first courses with sausage, barbecued red meats, hard mature cheeses.
